American Sonde Company (ASC)

Overview

American Sonde Company (ASC) sells professional HDD locating equipment intended for experienced operators. Because of the nature of electronic transmitters (sondes), all returns are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Returns or refunds are only available for manufacturer defects or non-functioning equipment reported within 30 days of delivery.

Eligible for Refund or Replacement

A refund or replacement may be issued if the product:

  • Arrives dead on arrival (DOA)
  • Fails to function under normal operating conditions
  • Stops working abruptly without signs of misuse or damage

The item must be returned for inspection before approval.

Not Eligible for Refund

Refunds or exchanges will not be issued for equipment damaged due to consumer error, including but not limited to:

  • Drops, impacts, or physical damage
  • Overheating or thermal damage
  • Water, drilling fluid, or mud intrusion
  • Improper installation or use outside manufacturer specifications
  • Normal wear and tear from use in the field

Once an item shows signs of use-related damage, it is considered non-returnable.

Inspection Required

All returned items are inspected upon receipt.
ASC reserves the right to deny refunds if damage is determined to be caused by misuse, handling, or environmental exposure.

Return Window

  • Defective or non-functioning items must be reported within 30 days of delivery
  • Items reported after this window are not eligible for refund or exchange

Refunds

If approved:

  • Refunds are issued to the original method of payment
  • Processing time is typically 5–10 business days

Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Exchanges

If an item is approved as defective, ASC may:

  • Issue a replacement of the same model, or
  • Issue a refund if a replacement is unavailable

Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
We recommend using a trackable shipping service and shipping insurance.

ASC is not responsible for lost or damaged return shipments.
